Wild Wonder Nature Journaling Conference 2020
First up is the virtual Wild Wonder Nature Journaling Conference 2020. This is the second year of this conference which was a wild success in 2019. For the full details go to the conference page here.
The event starts this week on Wednesday 7th October 2020. It runs for 5 days ending on 11 October 2020. The programme includes classes, panels, lectures, nature journaling challenges, social time, journal sharing, and an online auction. “If you can’t attend a class, you can watch a recording later (paid participants only). NOTE: The majority of the videos from this event will not be shared later for free.”
This is important for participants in South Africa, as the starting times for whom the starting times will be at 6:00 pm given the 9:00 am starting of Pacific Daylight Time of the organisers. Daily programmes continue for 12 hours, so until 6:00 am South African time (GMT+2).

There are three registration pricing options.
Conference Pass Regular price is $US 75 (about ZAR 1,300) includes live classes, events, speakers, keynote talks, plus unlimited access to video archive of all events.
Video Archive Pass is US$45 (about ZAR750) will be on sale after 11 October. It gives access to the archived recordings starting from about 10 November until 20 April 2021. Only registered participants will have access to the activities, including access to video recordings after the event. The video recordings will not be available for free later unlike John Muir (aka Jack) Laws’ usual practice.
Scholarship Conference Price US$25 (about ZAR420) covers full access to live sessions and post conference videos. Contact the organisers at wildwonderconf@gmail.com to enquiry about this option.

Next up, and closer to home, join Marianne de Jager and John Roff at Cumberland Nature Reserve for an inspiring and relaxing day of nature journaling. Located east of Pietermaritzburg, it is a popular birding spot, with diverse habitats, landscapes and wildlife.
